Description:

Works with the marketing team, with overall brand development and growth strategy and provides creative direction on all marketing communications material to support critical marketing KPIs and sales initiatives. Assist / support Corporate Marketing Manager with developing and executing annual marketing plans, participate in strategic internal and external customer programs and help in supervising key projects and personnel within the marketing department.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive brand growth (awareness, preference, trial, market share/usage, loyalty).
  • Support sales teams in brand execution through marketing activities and brand strength.
  • Directly manage the marketing support activities for a range of accounts, from small and mid-sized regional customers to large national accounts including major retailers.
  • Supervise Marketing Associates; help Corporate Marketing Manager in team development; provide feedback, guidance and training on best marketing practices.
  • Support sales staff by providing market trends, account analyses and new product information. Spends time in the field with sales to deepen understanding of the business and required tools.
  • Supervise agencies and vendors; manage cost efficiency, quality and timely delivery.
  • Develop sales tools, evaluate promotions, provide recommendations and coordinates internal strategy, external communications and support the selling process.
  • Research and evaluate trade show opportunities. Support sales representatives attending shows.
  • Monitor marketing results, to ensure that marketing objectives are met, within budget. Take necessary corrective action.
  • Assist in market research to understand industry trends, market insights, economic shifts; research and evaluate competitive product characteristics.
  • Oversee digital marketing strategy to ensure correct alignment with marketing objectives; monitor implementation; provide timely feedback.
  • Assist in planning and managing departmental budget; monitor and track spend against budget
  • Assist in the Division Manager on other departmental or business-related projects or tasks.

Requirements / Skills:

  • Minimum 7 years of marketing and/or communications experience; 1-3 years in Ad agency
  • Marketing experience in a range of industries, including automotive. Lubricants, Aftermarket or CPG industry is desirable
  • Strategic planning and execution, especially on B2B and B2C marketing initiatives
  • Creative writing, Brand management, Digital/Social Media, Event/Tradeshow management
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience & ability to manage 1-4 people in multiple locations
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented with strong work ethic
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks independently with precise detail
  • Proficient in use of MS Office Suite (PowerPoint/Excel/Word)

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Communications, or a business-related field. MBA a plus
